The trail begins at the very end of a highway that just sort of dead ends, to the bewilderment of us and everyone else. Everyone just sort of parks on both sides wherever they can find room. The trail is about fifteen minutes down, and due to around four hundred feet of elevation change, is exhausting for those not in shape when coming back up it.

The beach is absolutely beautiful and reminds me quite a bit of the area around the San Juan Islands, northwest of Seattle. It is fairly rocky along the beach, with plenty of logs to sit. Additionally, there are black sand dunes over 100 feet in height that are covered in plants and other vegetation.
